Edgar and Ray is a show about a friendly martian and an astronaut who at times wants to capture our friendly martian because it's his sole mission to find proof of life on Mars.
Edgar is an environmentalist at heart with the goal to preserve his world in it's untouched and unique state and defend it from intrusion as much as possible. Ray on the other hand doesn't qualify as a believer in environmental values. All he can think of is to carry out his mission in which he'll regularly fail of course given the fact that his counterpart significantly outweighs him in the brain department. Many possibilities for comedic situations lie in the "hunter and beast" relationship of the two characters. Stories can be played out in many variations on this theme. The two characters can be silent throughout the show since one of them is an alien and the other can't remove his helmet. Therefore, the characters would express themselves through their body language and that gives a great chance for lots of fun animation.
